Karyn Austin is a wife, mother and certified yoga instructor who is registered with Canadian Yoga Alliance (CYA-E-RYT500). She has been teaching various yoga and yoga hybrid styles (Hatha, Yin, Vinyasa, Pilates, Yogilates & Kundalini), for the past 18 years in London, Ontario and recently moved to New Westminster, BC. She is an accomplished musician and songwriter with the London, Ontario kirtan group “Mahadevi”. Her vocals can be heard on Rachel McGarry’s latest CD release, “Songs For Shavasana”. She has had the great pleasure of studying Bhakti Yoga with world-renowned kirtan artist Brenda McMorrow, in DevaTree Yoga School's Bhakti HeartFire program.
Karyn has been writing for decades and has had several articles published online in “Elephant Journal”. She loves the connection that her writing gives her and readers. Karyn's love of yoga has spanned literal decades and plans on teaching yoga when she's 100 years old. Last but not least, Karyn is obsessed with her dog, Esther.
Karyn from Harmony Yoga offers Hatha, Yin, Gentle Flow and Kundalini Yoga All classes are modified both up and down so as to fit the unique needs of each participant. Class size is small, inviting and fun!
Each yoga class includes a chanting portion as it takes the whole body on a deeper and more healing journey. No musical experience is necessary. This sound healing really is the cherry on top of any yoga/meditation practice !

I absolutely loved having Karyn as my yoga instructor. She is so kind and patient, but not boring! She was funny, creative and made me feel at ease, even though I had no idea what I was doing!!! Not only a blessed soul with teaching abilities, but as well as blessed with a beautiful voice! I would recommend anyone these offerings whether they want to expand their knowledge within yoga, have some relaxation and stretching, or just become a part of a beautiful and open group where they feel free to be themselves. I am so happy to have found these teachings and I was driving from Langley to New West just for her offerings because she is such a beautiful soul. Cannot recommend Karyn and her offerings enough! Her intentions for classes are always based upon how everyone seems to be feeling that day, she always checks in and improvises and that is what stands her out from other yoga teachings.
Karyn's style of yoga is perfect for those looking for gentle movements, deep relaxation, and connection to self/other/spirit. I've been a student of hers since October 2022 and intend on continuing as long as I can. She is kind, thoughtful, respectful, and adaptive to her students.
